Danny Doyle is a tough tackling center back surrounded by players who I’m sure even he would agree possess better technical ability than him but Danny’s application on and off the field allow him to not only mix with the better players but in most cases surpass them. As he has gotten elder its clear to see that his dedication fitness and his craft have allowed him to perform consistently well over long periods. A player compared to John Terry often. During our most successful season of recent Danny was by far the most consistently high performer. Had it not been for Andrew Thompsons 30+ goals and Ciro Donadio’s 100% footballing attendance he may have swept up all the team awards.
At rare times Danny’s defending can be rash and his instinct reactions may ultimately be detrimental to the team if punished but it’s a flaw you take knowing that it’s spurred on by his full commitment in every game. Partnered with Ambrose Kamara these two forms a formidable partnership that also have provided us with some of the best defensive records over the years. Recently Danny Doyle has stepped up from one of the assistant captains to take responsibility of the full captaincy. Lets hope he can lead Vista FC to many trophies over the coming season/s.
