Whether a manager or player everyone enjoys seeing the game being played correctly. A player whose contribution probably goes under the radar but the statistics show his importance is Ashley Sheppard. Ashley is a young player but an individual who is fundamentally quiet and reserved but is able to hold his own. He plays the game correctly and even though at times it appears slow or languid often gets him out of awkward situations with quick footwork or deceiving body swerves. In his first season with Vista FC he currently tops the assists leaderboard with 7 and has scored 2 goals at important times for Vista. He is one of the first on the team sheet as he provides hard work as well as the elegance of his play.
A great characteristic that Ashley possesses is self-awareness and the ability to honestly critique himself. Often being heard criticizing himself for performing below the standard he has set. The team has taken very well to Ashley and we hope he can continue to develop and help Vista achieve the goals we have set including trophies.
